ZZZ Drawing Zinema

Christoph Rothmeier and Philipp Haffner: ZZZ Drawing Zinema

The Projekt ZZZ investigates in the process of communication of drawing and develops it’s own modules to visualise and document these processes. The public Video-Drawing took place at the "B-movie", a small movie-theatre in Hamburg- the public production of the movie "KingKong in the fog". Two artists were seated at their drawing tables. Their individual working surfaces were filmed and projected ontop of each other on a big overhead screen. This setup allowed each artist to directly interact and interfere with the other's work, resulting in the creation of a whole new virtual working area and medium for telling the story of a fictive motion picture. "King Kong in the fog" is about man-apes in their cinematic representation and communicative potential.
The characters of "King Kong" and "Diane Fossey/Jane Goodall" serve as representatives for motives found in film and literature (like "Tarzan" or Kafkas "A Report for an Academy").
